Forensic Interview Training

Forensic TrainingBlossom Inc. partnered with the Ministry of Social Protection, Childcare and Protection Agency (CPA) to implement an intensive Forensic Interview training with professionals from the Guyana Police Force, CPA, Ministry of Public Health and ChildLink.

The training was held at the Officers’ Training Centre from May 7th – 10th.

The participants were engaged in lecture sessions as well as practical exercises. The content included “Child development”, “Forensic Interviewing Question Types and their Appropriate Usage”, “Childhood Trauma”, “Self-care” and “Forensic Interviewing Approaches and Techniques”.

Forensic TrainingThe aim of the initiative was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct trauma-sensitive and child-centered forensic interviews to facilitate the best outcome for child victims of abuse and secure increased convictions for perpetrators.

The expectation moving forward is that participants will build upon what they have learned, develop their skills and maximum on team cohesion to accomplish this aim.

Blossom Inc. partnered with the stake holders, Ministry of Social Protection, Childcare and Protection Agency (CPA) to deliver these information sessions. The gathering included professionals from the Guyana Police Force, CPA, Ministry of Public Health, and ChildLink.
