Leanna Thompson, BSc., Programme Manager
Leanna Thompson is a young professional within the development sector. Her skills earned during her time in the Pathfinder Programme, has made her into the young vivacious manager she is today. Throughout her career, Leanna has consistently found her way to be positioned as a decision maker and leader in her work with children, young adults, and families and is passionate about the overall care and development of children and families. Ms. Thompson began at Blossom Inc. in 2017 and has worked as a Reunification Officer, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Forensic Interviewer, CAC Coordinator, and now she is Blossom Inc.’s Programme Manager. Her time within these roles has significantly developed her technical and analytical skills for providing leadership and management to staff.
Leanna holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Southern Caribbean which she earned in 2016. While at Blossom Inc., Leanna completed the Monitoring & Evaluation Course which expanded her technical abilities and ensured that Blossom’s programme development and delivery was robust and measurable. Today, Leanna leads on the Child Advocacy Centre programme and is instrumental in the startup and implementation of two new Child Advocacy Centres. She supports staff through training related to the Child’s Advocacy Center Model, the multidisciplinary response to child sexual abuse, forensic interviewing, and evidenced based practices in child sexual abuse intervention and response to sexual violence and exploitation.
